15 JUNE 2016. MADRID – Fon, the world’s largest Wi-Fi network, and six of its partners, all leading telecommunication providers, will be providing free WiFi access across six different countries in honor of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA)’s first-ever World Wi-Fi Day.

Participating partners include BT, Cosmote, KPN, Proximus, Telekom Romania, and Telstra. Together, Fon and its partners will provide promo codes that unlock free WiFi access in the UK, Greece, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania, and Australia.

World Wi-Fi Day will be celebrated around the world on June 20th, 2016 by over 40 key players in the industry, including Google, Intel, Cisco, AT&T, and Nokia. This new initiative aims to bring awareness to the importance of digital access, WiFi’s key role in providing connectivity, and celebrating the success of digital initiatives around the world.
